Shannon Witzel is an accomplished collegiate coach and former All-American player with nearly two decades of coaching experience at the Division I and Division III levels. Currently the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Spalding University, Witzel has led the program to historic success, including its first-ever conference tournament appearance, back-to-back postseason berths, and multiple All-Conference honors while earning HCLC Coach of the Year recognition in 2024. Prior to Spalding, she spent nine seasons as an Assistant Coach at University of Cincinnati, helping transform the program into a conference contender, and also coached at La Salle University and Eastern High School.

As a player at Towson University, Witzel was one of the top midfielders in the nation, earning multiple All-American honors, leading the NCAA in goals per game, and finishing her career tied for the program record with 208 goals. A two-time team captain and conference champion, she was inducted into both the Pennsylvania TRI-COUNTY Hall of Fame and the Towson University Hall of Fame for her outstanding playing career and contributions to the sport.
