Byrne
True Atlanta is pleased to welcome Mike Byrne as the new director of the True Atlanta program. With a diverse background as a multi-sport athlete, collegiate player, facility owner, and director, Byrne brings decades of comprehensive athletic leadership to True Atlanta. Currently, his focus is on expanding the footprint of lacrosse and athletic excellence in Georgia. In addition to his new role with True Atlanta, Byrne is also the assistant coach for the Mount Paran lacrosse program after years of experience coaching youth lacrosse. He served on the board of a Georgia-based lacrosse organization, giving him vast industry expertise as an advisor and consultant for sports organizations throughout the region. He has extensive operational expertise after owning and managing multiple sports facilities.  A multi-sport athlete in his youth, Byrne ultimately focused on tennis in college, then continued in the sport coaching at the college level and working as a certified tennis professional. Â
Played goalie for five seasons at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, serving as team captain for two seasons. Two-time All-American, two-time Conference Player of the Year, and four-time First Team All-Conference selection. In 2023, led the nation in save percentage earning the NCAA statistical champion award for save percentage. Finished career ranked Top 25 all-time in NCAA Division I career saves.Â
