Luke Phipps

Luke Phipps has been part of True Lacrosse since 2025, when he merged the program he founded in 2020, California Gold, with True Lacrosse to become True California Gold. At that time, he also became a director for True National, a role in which he helps grow opportunities for West Coast athletes on a national stage. 

 

Upon founding California Gold in 2020, it quickly became one of the premier high school recruiting platforms in the west. As director and owner, Phipps built a culture emphasizing development, discipline, and exposure, which led to over 100 college commitments from 2020-2025 and national recognition across the country’s top events. 

 

Phipps moved to Southern California in 2017, dedicating his life to elevating the level of lacrosse in the region. As offensive coordinator at Mater Dei High School, Phipps helped transform the program into a five-time league champion, developing a fast, disciplined offense and mentoring athletes who have gone on to succeed at the collegiate level. 

 

With roots in the competitive lacrosse hotbed of Harford County, Maryland, Phipps attended John Carroll High School before playing at Jacksonville University, Essex Community College, and Salisbury University, three programs he says shaped his game and his standard. At Essex, he earned First Team All-American honors and was named Regional Offensive Player of the Year, leading one of the most dynamic offenses in the country. He finished his career at Salisbury as an NCAA All-American, competing for a national powerhouse and learning from some of the best coaches in the game. 

 

As a coach, Phipps says his mission is simple: “Develop elite players, build leaders, and raise the standard of lacrosse in the West and across the country!”
