Travis "Mac" McDonald

A native of College Park, Georgia, Mac was introduced to the game by his uncle and came up in a nontraditional lacrosse community — an experience that shaped his commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation of athletes.

Mac started coaching at Riverwood International Charter School, where he helped the program earn its first back-to-back GHSA playoff appearances while completing his undergraduate studies at Oglethorpe University. He went on to a five-year collegiate playing career at Virginia State University, serving as a graduate assistant while earning his graduate degree in 2025. Along the way he collected three Academic All-Conference selections, a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honor, and Virginia State Blue Academic Team recognition. In 2026, he was named offensive coordinator for the Virginia State women’s lacrosse program.

Mac joined True Richmond as a high school head coach and quickly became a leader within the organization, taking on True National and True Regional head coaching roles and leading multiple teams across age groups. As director, he oversees the continued growth of True Lacrosse Richmond — delivering an exceptional experience for players and families, developing coaches, and expanding opportunities for athletes throughout the region.
