Coach Ries brings more than 30 years of coaching and athlete development experience, helping shape and elevate girls’ lacrosse across the DMV. In 2003, she founded Montgomery County’s first travel lacrosse club, with a mission to develop, mentor, and expand opportunities for female athletes while raising the overall level of play.
She has enjoyed sustained success in both Montgomery County Public Schools and the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. A three-time Washington Post All-Met honoree, Ries is the only individual to be named All-Met Player of the Year as both an athlete (1988) and a coach (2001, 2012).
Through her commitment to player development and leadership within the coaching community, she has helped more than 300 athletes continue their lacrosse careers at the collegiate level. She currently serves as Head Coach of the 2029 Black Team.
