Senior Director
Dennis Short
Architect of Elite Culture. Builder of Championship Standards. Leader of Leaders.Â
Dennis Short doesn’t just coach teams — he builds programs that last.Â
With more than three decades of experience at every level of the game, Dennis has built nationally ranked collegiate programs, developed All-Americans, and shaped leadership models that extend far beyond the field. His career reflects one consistent outcome: when culture, clarity, and accountability align, elite performance follows.Â
As the longtime Head Coach at Rollins College, Dennis transformed a young Division II program into a perennial national contender. His teams advanced to multiple NCAA Final Fours and Quarterfinals, earned national Top 15 rankings year after year, and maintained elite academic standards — proving that competitive excellence and character development can (and should) coexist.Â
But Dennis’ impact reaches well beyond wins and rankings.Â
He has:Â
- Helped launch and transition Division I programsÂ
- Served on national coaching boards and selection committeesÂ
- Scaled premier recruiting events into nationally recognized showcasesÂ
- Delivered nineteen presentations at the US Lacrosse National Convention, including serving as a keynote speakerÂ
At True Lacrosse, Dennis brings a national perspective to a local mission: develop confident, competitive athletes who understand how to train, communicate, and perform at the highest level.Â
His coaching philosophy centers on:Â
- Mastery of fundamentalsÂ
- Clear, unified terminologyÂ
- Competitive decision-makingÂ
- Leadership through communicationÂ
- Accountability to team standardsÂ
Dennis believes that elite teams speak the same language, compete with clarity, and embrace uncomfortable growth. He is passionate about teaching athletes how to think the game, not just play it — building complete players who are prepared for college lacrosse and life beyond it.Â
True Lacrosse is built on standards. Dennis Short has spent his career setting them.Â
