True San Diego Girls Director

Christy Clinton

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Christy began playing lacrosse in high school and quickly fell in love with the game. She went on to play Division I lacrosse at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, where she served as the starting goalie for four years and still ranks among Marist’s top five goalies for most career saves.

After college, Christy became a special education teacher in Hawaii, where she also helped introduce lacrosse to the island of Oahu in 2002. Later, she moved to Washington State and coached varsity lacrosse for two years before continuing to coach in youth programs once her oldest daughter began playing. She served as the sole director of Stingrays Lacrosse Club for three years before leading the merger that formed True San Diego. The vision and values remained the same — the alignment was perfect: train hard, work harder, and be a good person both on and off the field.

Christy leads with a philosophy centered on integrity, heart, and hustle. She often tells her players, “You can be the most talented team out there, but if you play dirty, no one will respect you. True greatness is performing at the highest level while earning the respect of your opponents.”

What sets True Lacrosse apart is the heart Christy pours into her athletes. She’s deeply invested not just in their growth as players, but in helping them become strong, kind, and resilient people who give back to their communities. At True Lacrosse, we train morebuild smarter, and play with heart — growing every athlete’s IQ and lifelong love for the game.
