True Lacrosse CA Announces Expansion into San Diego - Offering Boys & girls Programing

SAN DIEGO, CA – True Lacrosse is pleased to announce it has merged with the Academy Lacrosse Club and the Stingrays Lacrosse Club to form the new True San Diego program, hosting teams for both boys and girls in its inaugural 2025 season. With an emphasis on training and development, employing True’s proven-successful approach to elevating players’ skill levels, True San Diego will provide an elite experience for players who are eager to expand their lacrosse ability and IQ and compete at a high level.

Leading the True San Diego program will be Bo Francy for the boys’ program, and Christy Clinton on the girls’ side. Francy is the owner and director of the Academy Lacrosse Club. A New Jersey native, Francy grew up playing lacrosse from sixth grade throughout high school before joining the United States Navy. During his 12 years of distinguished service, Francy completed three deployments and earned an honorable discharge. He has since settled in San Diego with his family, where he is the president of the Scripps Ranch Youth Lacrosse League and varsity head coach for the Scripps Ranch High School boys’ lacrosse program.

Francy continues to compete in various box and field lacrosse leagues throughout Southern California. His experience and leadership, both on and off the field, will serve the young players of True San Diego well as he strives to build a stronger lacrosse community and guide the next generation of players.

Christy Clinton joins the True San Diego staff after serving as executive director and head coach of the San Diego Stingrays Lacrosse Club. Clinton was born and raised on Long Island, NY, where she started playing lacrosse in high school. She continued her lacrosse career in college at D1 Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, where she was their starting goalie for four years and still holds the record for being a top five goalie with the most career saves. After college, Clinton became a special education teacher in Hawaii, where she helped bring lacrosse to the island of Oahu. She moved back to the mainland to Washington state, where she coached varsity lacrosse for two years, then continued to coach a youth program once her oldest daughter was in elementary school. Her roots in the heart of America’s lacrosse hotbed and her dedication to growing the game throughout her career make Clinton a perfect fit to lead, guide, and grow the young female lacrosse community in San Diego through her role as director of True Lacrosse’s newest program.

All players interested in learning more about True San Diego and joining the inaugural summer teams are invited to join us for tryouts on Saturday, January 25^th at Thurgood Marshall Middle School.
