True Lacrosse Announces Pittsburgh Elite Formation, Welcomes 79ers & Grizzlies to Affiliate Program Offerings

True Lacrosse is excited to announce the formation of True Pittsburgh Elite, a high-level team offering that will act as the core programming model for current and future True Pittsburgh families. True Pittsburgh Elite, led by current and familiar True Pittsburgh leadership, will provide an advanced training model designed for the area’s premier players. This program, featuring six annual tournaments, will increase training opportunities by centralizing locations to provide more logistical convenience for families within the area. Players in graduation years 2025-2032 can register to be evaluated for this program at Montour Sports Complex at the end of July (see below for tryout details).

Additionally, True Lacrosse welcomes two new affiliates to the area as 79ers Lacrosse moves under the True umbrella, and The Grizzlies (a new program offering) launches in Northern Pittsburgh this fall. 79ers, a staple in the Pittsburgh Lacrosse community, will act as the southern region affiliate of Pittsburgh Elite, and all 79ers players will have access to True Lacrosse resources and tryouts moving forward. As an established, non-profit club serving the greater Pittsburgh area, 79ers are entering their sixth summer season and offer programming for graduation years 2034-2025. Their mission to empower and instill confidence in players both on and off the field was a natural fit for True’s player-first model.

In a coordinated effort to maximize training opportunities for all Pittsburgh-area players, the formation of The Grizzlies (powered by True Lacrosse) will offer Northern Pittsburgh athletes the opportunity to compete at the club level, benefit from high-level coaching, and take full advantage of the True infrastructure as northern affiliate of True Pittsburgh Elite. The Grizzlies will kick off their inaugural season this fall, and more information will follow in the coming weeks and months.
