Blake Balcaen, originally from Rochester, New York, is a former Division II midfielder at Pace University, where he served as a two-time team captain and earned his MBA in Corporate Finance. He began his coaching career at Pace as Offensive Coordinator (2021–2022), helping lead one of the top 10 scoring offenses in the country while coaching four Division II All-Americans. He has since held multiple high school coaching roles, including JV Head Coach at Horace Greeley (2023), Varsity Assistant at Bronxville (2024), where he helped guide the team to a sectional championship appearance and coached a New Balance All-American, and Varsity Head Coach at Putnam Valley (2025), leading the program to one of its strongest seasons in seven years. He currently serves as Varsity Head Coach at Archbishop Stepinac (2025–present), one of the premier private school programs in New York.
At the club level, Balcaen is the Program Director for True Westchester, which he launched in the summer of 2022 and rapidly grew from its inception to over 450 players in just three years, with more than 60 college commitments across Division I, II, and III. Under his leadership, the program now features five teams ranked in the top 100 nationally, including two in the top 25, while he also spearheads college recruiting efforts for all players. He additionally serves as Program Director for True Empire (2024–present), a regional program featuring top talent from across the Northeast, and as Associate Vice President of Northeast Markets (2025–2026), overseeing all True Lacrosse operations in the region. Balcaen has also been selected to coach at the New Balance All-American Games since 2024, further highlighting his impact and recognition within the sport.
