Amir Taylor is a Capital Region native and lifelong athlete whose roots in Albany run deep. Amir’s journey began at Christian Brothers Academy, where he spent six years under the mentorship of Coach Vivian and Coach Scully, competing in both football and lacrosse for five of those formative years. He went on to complete a post-graduate year at Salisbury School in Connecticut under Coach Wynne, continuing to play both sports before focusing his athletic career on lacrosse at Siena University, where he competed on the men’s team under Coach Liam Gleason.

After his playing days, Amir returned to where it all started, CBA, this time as a coach. He spent four years as Defensive Coordinator alongside Coach Scully. He currently serves as Head Coach at CBA, bringing both experience and a genuine investment in the young men he develops. Off the field, Amir is the Director of Development at Northwestern Mutual. He is married to his wife Tierra, proud father to his six-year-old daughter Aleia, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of his son this September. Amir brings to True Lacrosse Albany not just a resume, but a story — one written entirely in the Capital Region, and one he’s excited to continue building with this community.
