Dave O’Day began his lacrosse journey later than most, discovering the sport as a sophomore in high school. He played three years at Park City High School, which led to a collegiate playing year at Utah State.
His coaching career began immediately after graduating high school, when he was asked to coach at two different camps. He has coached at the Tribal West Lacrosse Camp for the past 16 summers and the Nike Lacrosse Camp for 10 of those summers.
Dave went on to coach his first spring season at Mountain Pointe High School (AZ) before returning to Utah. His coaching resume includes six years with Park City Youth, two years with Park City JV, one year with Brighton Youth, and he is currently coaching his fifth season as the Brighton High School Varsity coach.
He is grateful for the success his teams have achieved, including three undefeated youth championship seasons and back-to-back 5A Utah High School State Championships in 2024 and 2025.
In February 2026, Dave took over as True Utah Director and looks forward to helping kids around the state and country continue to grow through lacrosse.
